ARPE Services: Research Design & Evaluation Planning
Rigorous program evaluation begins with thoughtful planning, rooted in an understanding of a program, its theory of action, and its expected inputs, outputs, and outcomes. We develop research designs and evaluation plans, consulting with clients during the earliest phases of program conceptualization through proposal writing, implementation, and after the program has launched.
We have experience designing studies ranging from brief, small projects to complex multi-year investigations at a state or national level. We bring a deep knowledge of research and program evaluation design, logic modeling, quantitative and qualitative methods, measures development and selection, secondary data sources, and a range of data analysis techniques to our work. Our staff includes subject area specialists grounded in issues associated with early education, K-12 education, higher education, public health, healthcare, human services, and economic and workforce development, among others. Our connection to the UMass system allows us to expand our capacity and seamlessly integrate specialized expertise from the campuses into the research design process.
