Business and Organizations Located in Devens, Massachusetts: Profile and Economic Contributions

MassDevelopment commissioned the UMass Donahue Institute to update a report examining the employment and economic impacts of the commercial businesses located in Devens, Massachusetts. The report found that employment had grown to more than 4,030 in the first quarter of 2014, an increase of 396 over the comparable 2013 figure of 3,634.
In addition, the economic activities of private and nonprofit Devens entities supported more than 4,100 Massachusetts jobs through indirect and induced spending. Private sector and nonprofit organizations had estimated combined sales of more than $918 million, which supported additional spending of $665 million in local supply chains to make Devens’s total contribution more than $1.5 billion to the Massachusetts economy.
