Local officials to form committee to decide future of Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School
The results of a recent study by the Applied Research and Program Evaluation business group were presented in a community forum moderated by Massachusetts State Senate President Stanley C. Rosenberg (D-Amherst).
The impetus for the study was an acknowledgment on the part of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School and the City of Northampton, that current governance and fiscal structures were not sustainable, and that potential solutions to this challenge required a detailed exploration of these systems and their many complexities.
