State's economic growth slowed in 2018's fourth quarter

The latest bulletin from the MassBenchmarks project was released on January 31. It was covered by several media outlets include the Providence Business News,  WGBH, WBZ, and Commonwealth Magazine.

From the Gloucester Times article:

Economic growth in Massachusetts slowed in the fourth quarter, continuing a pattern that began last summer.

Economists at MassBenchmarks reported Thursday that real gross domestic product in Massachusetts grew 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter, down from 3.4 percent in the third quarter. The economy grew at a 4 percent clip over the first half of 2018.

Authors of the journal, which is published by the University of Massachusetts' Donahue Institute with help from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, described the state economy as "strong" and "operating at near-full capacity."
