Commentary by the Urban Land Institute's Boston/New England chapter uses our Massachusetts municipal summary data to support their thesis that household size and the notion of what a family is has changed but the state's housing policies and existing housing stock does not accurately reflect the present.
"Single and two-person households make up almost a third of all living arrangements in the Commonwealth and in 251 of our 351 towns and cities, half the units house 2 people or less."
