UMass Donahue Institute Hosts Seminar on "Planning for a Recovery and Evolving Economy"
The Donahue Institute and Regional Economic Models Inc. hosted 23 researchers and officials from four states on July 18 at the UMass Club in Boston for presentations, training, and discussions on dynamic economic modeling to better inform policymaking. Among the attendees included representatives from state agencies in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire; local participation from the Mayor’s Office and Redevelopment Authority; and university representation from UMass, MIT, Brandeis, and Maryland-College Park.
Donahue’s Economic and Policy Research Director Dr. Martin Romitti was a featured presenter, offering details and insights on the casino analysis he completed in Missouri in 2010 which recently was awarded “Excellence in Project Evaluation” by the national Council for Community and Economic Research.
