UMass Civic Initiative awarded grant to host Indonesian legislators
The UMass Donahue Institute’s Civic Initiative was awarded a $100,000 grant to manage and host a program for a group of Indonesian legislators who will come to the U.S. to study educational policy. The program, sponsored by the U.S. embassy in Jakarta, will be a residential program based in Amherst, Massachusetts, and will offer the visiting legislators a chance to meet with both state and federal lawmakers, policy makers, and researchers in the area of K-12 education. As part of the program, the legislators will travel to various locations along the eastern seaboard including Washington D.C. and Boston.
