Susan Strate continues demographic leadership at the national level

At yesterday’s Fall FSCPE meeting Susan Strate, the institute's senior program manager of the population estimates program, was elected by her national peers to serve a second two-year term as Vice-Chair of the Federal-State Cooperative for Population Estimates Steering Committee (FSCPE).

The FSCPE is a collaborative association of state demographers from around the U.S. organized by the U.S. Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Division to promote cooperation and knowledge-sharing between the Bureau and states around population estimates. In recent years, the FSCPE membership has also been deeply involved in Census preparation and review activities and in advocacy around Census-related initiatives on behalf of their member states.

Susan has served as an elected member of the seven-person steering committee since 2012, and was re-elected this summer to serve a 6th term on this committee. The six other states represented on the FSCPE Steering Committee this year include Colorado, Minnesota, New York, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Washington. The full FSCPE membership includes representatives from all 50 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
