Hampshire Gazette: Pakistani educators and students both teach understanding
A February 2015 visit to Islamabad, Pakistan by UMass professors and Amherst public school teachers was just one part of an exchange program overseen by Donahue’s Civic Initiative. Previously in 2014, 20 Pakistani secondary school teachers and administrators visited Amherst to learn teaching practices at UMass and Amherst High School.
In addition to the professional exchange program, 25 Pakistani students have visited yearly since 2010 and attended UMass public policy classes. The Civic Initiative also administers exchange programs with Iraq and Argentina and coordinates visits by Fulbright participants.
