Financial Literacy Pilot Study Results Released
The Statewide Summit on Financial Education was held in May at the UMass Center at Springfield.
At the summit, "Findings of the Gateway Financial Literacy Pilot program" was presented by Kate Szczerbacki, Senior Research Analyst at UMass Donahue Institute and Anne DeMallie, Mathematics Statewide Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The presentation focused on key findings related to student outcomes and promising practices of grantee high schools. These promising practices included the incorporation of experiential activities, the development of community partnerships, and embedding financial literacy content in already existing courses and programs.
