2011 STEM Summit Date Announced
In October 2010, Massachusetts’ Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray, Chair of the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council, unveiled the Commonwealth’s Statewide STEM Plan at the Summit. This year’s event will include an update on both statewide and regional progress toward meeting the Five Quantitative Goals outlined in the plan. In addition, strand themes this year will place greater emphasis on business/industry issues and involvement; the full spectrum of workforce development (including K-16 vocational education); higher education; and, connections to national public and private program. Keynotes speakers will include William H. Swanson, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Raytheon Company and Linda P. Rosen, Ph.D., CEO of Change the Equation.
