Abdallah Najeh Abed Abu Hamad (he/him/his)
Jordan
Abdallah Abu Hamad is a born and raised Jordanian in his 4th year of study in pharmacy at the University of Jordan, and a self-described "Unshakable Optimist". He is heavily invested in the empowerment of others, understanding the unique differences of individuals, and embracing diversity, for a brighter Jordan, and a brighter global community. On a professional level, Abdullah has experience in the field of sales for various organizations, however, he spends his free time volunteering and taking on community service and development initiatives. Between the Crown Prince Foundation and the Jordan Pharmaceutical Students' Association, Abdullah's crown jewel of accomplishments thus far would be the Association's reception of the Best Member Organization Award in 2023, when he was president. He is a big basketball fan and a bigger Kobe Bryant fanatic. Abdullah is indescribably excited to learn more about American culture through the SUSI on Economic Empowerment experience, as well as to impart insights about Jordan. Through SUSI, he hopes to gain invaluable experience on personal and professional levels and to assist local businesses to scale and market their products and services in a way that is beneficial to both to community and the market
Hadeel Majed Mahmoud Abu Karki (she/her/hers)

Hadeel Abu Karki, a second-year university student from Jordan, is passionate about learning and making a positive impact. Studying applied English, she is intrigued by diverse subjects, including business, tourism, science, and women's economic contributions. With a knack for communication and adaptability, Hadeel excels in her job and believes in the power of connecting with others, especially in leading economic projects.
Saba Ahmad Mohammad AlSatari (she/her/hers)

Saba AlSatari is a fourth-year industrial engineering student from Jordan with a unique blend of academic rigor, artistic talent, and leadership prowess. Since a young age, she has discovered her passion for calligraphy art and leadership, paving her path toward running multiple leadership roles at various student clubs. As a calligraphy enthusiast, she decided to academically learn the secrets of calligraphy, leading her to win the award of artistic excellence at the University of Jordan and become the youngest winner in Jordan’s Arabic calligraphy art competition. Saba has honed her analytical engineering and problem-solving skills, intending to utilize them in tackling community issues she discovered during her university projects in the field, such as economic crisis, lack of business skills and understanding of entrepreneurship, deficiencies in production and planning systems, and inadequate R&D. She also looks forward to integrating the skills and experience gained from her academic and volunteer journeys, along with the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the SUSI EE program, to develop solutions that benefit both artists and engineers and add value to society. Furthermore, Saba is eager to engage with global leaders, showcasing the charming culture of calligraphy art and fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration.
Asma Bekhedda (she/her/hers)
Algeria
Asma Bekhedda is a second-year student at the Higher School of Artificial Intelligence in Algeria. She is a curious girl, passionate about discovering what lies beyond her current knowledge. From an early age, she tried realizing DIY projects on YouTube since club activities were never present in her school. Asma's fascination with American cartoons that explore scientific clubs, kids' workshops, and science fiction movies was sufficient to push her toward a technological path. As she matured, her interest in understanding the main factors transforming today's world led her to Yanis's book Talking to My Daughter About Economics. This is where she began developing an interest in economics. Her primary goal now is to establish a strong foundation in economics to bridge the gap between this field and AI, empowering it with this potent tool. The SUSI program presents an excellent opportunity to both kickstart her journey to a better understanding of economics and equip her with appropriate skills, including leadership. This will enable her to effect significant change in society or at least prepare the groundwork for future generations to build upon.
Mohammed Boukdir (he/him/his)
Morocco
Mohammed Boukdir is a second-year university student from Morocco. He studies education at the Ecole Normale Supérieure Marrakech and is interested in culture, global educational systems, and the inequality within education. In addition to his academic interests, he spends his free time working with an NGO that empowers women and children, helping women in need and the local community by creating opportunities for better integration in society. He loves to read and cook; he also looks forward to sharing Moroccan culture and food with Americans during the SUSI on Economic Empowerment. During his SUSI experience, he wants to learn more about the life of a student in the USA and how he can apply what he learns in his local schools and university.

Abdelhak Chellal is an artificial intelligence (AI) student at the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence at Algiers (ENSIA). He is driven to become an AI engineer and empower his community. Passionate about helping Algerian youth explore the exciting field of AI, Abdelhak enjoys sports and experimenting in the kitchen in his free time. The SUSI program presents an exciting opportunity for Abdelhak to delve deeper into world economics and U.S. culture, while also fostering leadership skills. He is eager to learn how these elements can be used to create a brighter future for his community.
Ekram Mahmoud Allam Dardeer (she/her/hers)
Egypt
Ekram Mahmoud is a sophomore at E-JUST from Cario, Egypt. She studies international business and marketing and is interested in the implications of digital marketing and fostering entrepreneurship work. In addition to her academic interests, Ekram spends most of her time in event planning, coordination, and logistics, and started her first startup at the age of 17 after completing a one-year program: YEA- Female Strong. She loves photography and video editing and is looking forward to documenting her SUSI journey and sharing Egyptian culture and food with friends on campus during her SUSI on Economic Empowerment. During her SUSI experience, she wants to delve into the business market, where she can better support the youth her age to grow their startups.
Laith Mohammad Mahmoud Diab (he/him/his)

Laith Diab, a second-year medical student at Yarmouk University, demonstrates a passionate interest in foreign affairs, government representation, political participation, and economic empowerment. Laith actively involves himself in leadership roles within numerous clubs, unions, and associations, as well as student and civil institutions. He spends his free time playing chess and debating.
Lina Hammoumi (she/her/hers)
Morocco
Lina Hammoumi, a fifth-year student at the National School of Architecture in Morocco, possesses diverse experience in various fields, including project management, leadership, and social entrepreneurship. Motivated and driven by a desire to make a difference, Lina is eager to leverage her skills and knowledge. She has a deeply rooted passion for sketching and capturing precious moments with her pens and paper, alongside her academic and extracurricular pursuits. In the SUSI program, Lina is particularly interested in learning from the American entrepreneurship model, aiming to gain insights into innovative strategies and approaches that she can apply to her own entrepreneurial endeavors and community projects.
Tijani Kallel (he/him/his)
Tunisia
Tijani Kallel is a second-year electrical engineering student from Tunisia. He studies at the National Engineering School of Sfax and is passionate about the fields of renewable energies and sustainable development. In addition to his academic interest, Tijani is committed to making a social impact in his community by applying the skills he must address some of the issues in his community and come up with innovative solutions to fix them. For example, he led a team of five high schoolers within the Tunisian NGO, First Skills Club, to create a project that extracts biogas for cooking needs in their city from seagrass (the renewable source of energy they chose), solving both problems of gas scarcity in the city and the big floating amounts of seagrass in the shallows of the city. Tijani is very passionate about cooking and is looking forward to sharing his Tunisian culture, heritage, and food with Americans and fellow participants during the SUSI on Economic Empowerment program. While in the program, he wants to learn more about finance, financial literacy, and strategic business planning and how to merge them with his technical background to achieve his future goals.
Samar Khelifi (she/her/hers)
Tunisia
Samar Khelifi, a second-year university student from Tunisia, is passionate about her studies in management, with plans to specialize in finance next year. Alongside her academic pursuits, she is deeply committed to advocating for human rights and environmental causes, actively engaging in civic activities. Samar has a genuine drive to make a positive impact. She has established two clubs: TIMUN Ezzahra, dedicated to Model United Nations simulations, and the 3Zero Campus Club ESCT, aimed at promoting sustainability awareness among the students at her university. Samar is interested in short video filming and can't wait to create numerous videos with her peers during their SUSI on Economic Empowerment. She is looking forward to learning about financial literacy, including saving, budgeting, and basic investment concepts, as well as networking with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Haithem Medjmedj (he/him/his)
Algeria
Haithem Medjmedj is a third-year university student in pharmacy from Algeria. He studies and learns about the discovery, production, preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications. He is a technician in radiology working at Mohamed Boudiaf Central Hospital. In addition to his academic career, he spends his free time in content creation and video making. He aims to enter the field of scientific research aspiring to discover solutions to some incurable diseases such as sickle cell anemia, HIV, etc. He is proud of successfully studying two specialties at the same time. During his SUSI experience, he wants to learn leadership skills and the ability to form a team and lead it in the best way, which will help him implement his projects in the field of health, as well as his volunteer project in serving disabled patients.
Salma Nhili (she/her/hers)

Salma Nhili is a fourth-year software engineering student from Morocco. She studies IT and management skills at ENSA Marrakech and is interested in combining both STEM and entrepreneurship to create revolutionary startups. Salma also spends her free time tutoring programming to kids which is a way to embrace her passion for education. She had several internships/work positions in data science, community management, and graphic design. Furthermore, Salma is a real nerd about science and fitness and looks forward to learning more about them in a different environment during the SUSI on Economic Empowerment program. She also wants to learn how to engage with different cultures and perspectives and make a lot of friends!
Moadh Qarouani (he/him/his)
Morocco
Moadh Qarouani is from Sidi Bennour, Morocco, and is deeply invested in his studies of international relations with a minor in political economy and development studies at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Moadh has evolved into a pivotal figure in leadership and advocacy. His presidency of the Regional Students’ Council of Casablanca-Settat enabled him to work alongside national and international organizations, pushing for educational enhancements and the promotion of civic virtues. Beyond his leadership roles, Moadh is a fervent advocate for reading and equitable access to education, gaining recognition in national media and from the Ministry of Education. His dedication extends beyond the global stage to local communities, where he is committed to addressing development issues, emphasizing the importance of education and community engagement. Moadh seeks to bridge the gap between youth perspectives and governmental action, advocating for a sustainable future. As he prepares to participate in the SUSI program, Moadh’s comprehensive involvement in governance, education reform, and social advocacy underscores his role as a potent agent of progress and inclusivity.

Manel Rahali is a first-year master’s student from Algeria. She majors in finance and accounting at the School of Higher Commercial Studies and is interested in stock markets, risk management, and the international economy. She aspires to start a crowdfunding startup in Algeria after she graduates. Other than her academic interests and professional dreams, she spends her free time working for her student organization and assisting her sister who's a digital marketing freelancer. She has had many internships to make the most out of her time as she thrives in learning and discovering new things. She is deeply connected to her home country, strongly believes in the "Algerian dream", and wants to see her country reach its full potential and be part of that change, hence the main reason for her participation in the SUSI program. She believes Algerian culture is worth sharing worldwide and she is excited to share it with her SUSI peers.
Mohamed Alhoussiny Mohamed Abde Sharaf (he/him/his)

Mohamed Alhoussiny is a fourth-year university student from Egypt, currently pursuing a degree in architecture at Benha University. He has a strong interest in social entrepreneurship and sustainable development. In his spare time, he is dedicated to his brand, Mas Studio, which he takes great pride in. Additionally, Mohamed engages in charitable activities with organizations like Resala and participates in student activities with IEEE. He utilizes his summer breaks to gain professional experience through internships at engineering companies, aiming to enhance his skills. Moreover, he is eager to participate in the SUSI program to learn how to effectively engage with new communities, adapt to different conditions, further develop his language and skills, and learn how to apply this experience in his local community.
Asaf Nady Rateb Wesmen (he/him/his)

Asaf Nady is from Upper Egypt and is studying clinical pharmacy at Minia National University. He is interested in pharmaceutical businesses, social impact, and quality education. His goals in life are to make a mark and help students become successful change-makers. He is very proud of founding Bosla, his social enterprise aimed at empowering students to access global opportunities. He has also participated in the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub program and Ashoka X Schneider Electric youth program. He is looking forward to gaining experience and expanding his network through SUSI to help develop his project further.
Omar Hamad Ahmed Yasein (he/him/his)

Omar Yasein is a third-year university student from Egypt. He studies mechanical and industrial engineering at Cairo University and is interested in how the global system functions and how local communities adapt to fluctuating market trends. Omar firmly believes that education and instilling substantial skills in the upcoming generations are the only ways to thrive in this dynamic business world. Beyond his academic interests, he works as a part-time STEM instructor for children, utilizing a gamification system. He also collaborates with the Goethe Institute and an NGO as an instructor and facilitator, visiting local cities along the Nile River and raising awareness about building community projects and advocating for a better environment according to community needs. He has held extraordinary internships in multinational companies such as General Motors and Schneider Electric. He loves to read, particularly history, and looks forward to sharing the richness of Egyptian culture with his peers. During his SUSI experience, he aims to learn how to encourage the local community of mechanical engineers to start transforming their ideas into tangible projects by fostering resolute market segmentation and empowering his community with knowledge to transition from consumerism into industrialism.
Jaouaher Yousffi (she/her/hers)

Jaouaher Yousffi, a third-year university student from Tunisia, is currently enrolled in business analytics and finance at Tunis Business School. Her academic focus encompasses financial markets, investing, banking, and international politics. Outside of her studies, she actively volunteers with an international charity organization and teaches English online to Canadian children. An enthusiast of outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and sports, she takes pleasure in socializing and immersing herself in diverse cultures while proudly representing Tunisia's rich heritage. During her SUSI experience, she aspires to gain insights into the American financial markets and deepen her understanding of investing, to foster financial literacy among Tunisian youth.
