Donahue Data Dash: The Effects of Differential Privacy on Massachusetts PL-94 Census Data

This interactive dashboard shows the estimated effects of Differential Privacy on Massachusetts PL94 Census Data by geographic level, population size, race, and age group. In its Census 2020 data release, the U.S. Census Bureau has applied a technique called Differential Privacy in a new Disclosure Avoidance System that adds error to published data in order to protect individual respondent privacy. This analysis estimates the extent of this error by comparing the Census Bureau’s 2010 Demonstration Data (2021.06.08 Production Settings) against the Census 2010 Summary File 1 dataset for Massachusetts.
