Worcester Telegram & Gazette: Cummings a boon to research, industry, economy
Lindsey Koshgarian, Research Manager in the UMass Donahue Institute’s Economic and Public Policy Research group, was quoted in an article appearing in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. The article discussed the economic contributions of the veterinary industry to Massachusetts and the regional economy, focusing on biomedical research and medical advancements developed through the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.
Koshgarian worked on a 2008 study which found that veterinary medicine generated $1.3 billion in 2006 in Massachusetts alone and $3.3 billion in New England, accounting for 32,000 jobs.
