Electricity study by UMass Donahue Institute
A Donahue Institute study looked broadly at the electricity sector, a category that includes power plants, wind and solar companies, and the supply chains that enable the generation and transmission of electricity. It found the sector supports more than 25,000 jobs in the region and creates more than $10 billion in economic activity every year. Study leader Rod Motamedi says the economic impact is especially meaningful in rural areas.
