During the first quarter of 2014, while the U.S. economy grew at 0.1 percent, the Commonwealth’s economy grew at a 2.6 percent rate, with a 4.1 percent growth forecast over the coming six months.
Economists credit a moderate increase in employment, up 1.2 percent, along with improving salaries and state withholding tax collections.
