UMass Medical School's latest project to benefit direct-care workers, not just patients
The UMass Medical School is collaborating with several community colleges and the state's higher education leadership to develop a uniform curriculum for home health aides that could lead to better-paying careers. For example, a certificate program could lead to an associate's degree and on to a bachelor's degree in the health care field. The demands for home health care are expected to increase over the next 20 years as baby boomers age past 65.
