Massachusetts economy grows faster than nation, says UMass study

The Massachusetts economy continued to outpace the nation, according to a report issued Friday, but economists point to lagging consumer spending here, and the state is at or near full employment.
Massachusetts’ real gross domestic product grew at a 4.6% annual rate, according to MassBenchmarks, a report on the state’s economy prepared by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute.
