UMass hosts Iraqi students over summer
The Daily Collegian, the student-run newspaper of UMass Amherst, interviewed several participants of this summer's Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program about their expectations and actual experiences while in an academic, social and community engagement program in Amherst. The program hosted 25 students from across Iraq and was one of several programs run by the University of Massachusetts Civic Initiative this summer.
Another group of young leaders from Pakistan and mult-national group of professors also spent the summer not only on campus but also visiting other East Coast sights including New York City and Washington DC.
