Universal, broader screenings of students needed
A recent study by the Institute's Applied Research and Program Evaluation (ARPE) unit is a part of a growing body of research regarding the benefits of implemeneting social-emotional learning support in public schools, reports CommonWealth Magazine. The article is focused on the inclusion of social-emotional screenings for all students due to the connections to overal well-being and academic performance.
ARPE's report (completed in partnership with MassINC) details the progress and obstacles several Gateway Cities' schools have reported in implementing social-emotional supports to assist students with behavioral health needs.
