Business West: Finding Answers: At the Donahue Institute, they also help formulate the questions

Business West, the business journal of Western Massachusetts, published a lengthy article outlining the wide and varied scope of the UMass Donahue Institute's work. In the piece, executive director Lynn Griesemer, deputy director Eric Heller and director of Economic and Public Policy Research Dan Hodge discuss a myriad of the Institute’s initiatives, ranging from assessing the U.S. Census to researching passenger rail service in the Northeast Corridor, as well as special projects such as the annual Massachusetts STEM Summit and the biannual Academy for Newly Elected Legislators.

The in-depth piece traces the development and evolution of the Donahue Institute from its initial focus on training state and local government workers into a broad and agile organization comprised of six business units that handle roughly 140 contracts each year at varying dollar amounts totaling $15 million, with a diverse client base that spans non-profit, education, private industry and government sectors.
