Brockton collaborative aims to address family homelessness

CareerWorks, the career center serving the greater Brockton region, is part of a collaborative that seeks to end family homlessness in the area. The group has already been awarded a preliminary grant by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Working Cities Challenge. This $15,000 grant allows them to then apply for a three-year $475,000 grant. Another $100,000 match would be required if the group is given the nearly half million dollar grant over other applicants.

The collaborative includes the city, HarborOne Bank, United Way, Brockton Public Schools, the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board, and several local homelesseness-focused nonprofit organizations.
