Boston Business Journal: Massachusetts economy grew much faster than nation's in first quarter
The Boston Business Journal summarized the findings of the latest MassBenchmarks bulletin on the state of the Massachusetts economy. During the first quarter of 2014, the Commonwealth’s economy grew at a 2.6 percent rate, compared to the nation’s 0.1 percent growth rate. At the same time, the state’s wages grew at 15 percent annual rate, and spending on taxable items grew at an estimated 6.1 percent.
