Boston Business Journal: 3,200+ people work at Devens, survey says
Boston Business Journal featured an article outlining the economic impact that redevelopment of the former Devens U.S. Army base has had on the region. The economic impact study, commissioned by MassDevelopment and completed by the Economic and Public Policy group at the UMass Donahue Institute, found that the businesses at Devens have generated work for more than 3,200 people and $1.45 billion for the state’s economy.
The firms and organizations spent about $1.06 billion, which supported additional spending of $393 million in local supply chains, the study said
