Boston Biz Journal: Mass. GDP growth revised downward on lower 2011 jobs estimate
The Boston Business Journal highlighted MassBenchmarks recent bulletin discussing the impact that revisions to Massachusetts jobs data had on estimates of the state's GDP growth in 2011.
Previous estimates had the Bay State adding nearly 41,000 jobs on the year. New estimates showed a job gain of just 9,100. As a result, employment in Massachusetts grew only 0.3 percent in 2011, as opposed to the 1.3 percent previously estimated.
